Jessica Hoopes

Ascend founder and owner, Jessica Hoopes is the former Assistant Dean of the School of Business Administration at Widener University. As such, she has facilitated career opportunities for hundreds of college students– from internships and co-op positions, to full-time employment.  

Throughout her career, Jessica has collaborated with several Philadelphia-area companies, including Wawa, UPS, Envestnet, The Boeing Company, and BlackRock. As a result, she has developed an extensive professional network of industry leaders, board members, and human resource managers that now serves as a resource as she works with students and other young professionals. 

Jessica’s professional expertise also includes having designed and implemented new community outreach programs for the Widener School of Business Administration, including a Financial Literacy Workshop, the School of Business Administration Summer Camp, and the Academic Workshop for Young Women.

Prior to Widener, Jessica worked in marketing– first as an executive at the Ford Motor Company, and later as the owner of a marketing consulting business. Jessica holds a Master’s in Public Administration degree from Widener University, and a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Maryland College Park. 

The mother of three grown children, Jessica is well aware of the challenges that young adults face when entering the workforce. As such, she’s poised with both professional and personal depth to help college students and young professionals forward their career goals.
